Sweet Chili with Turkey

Sweet Chili with Turkey

Created By: ToxicFreeFamily

I created this chili on this cold snowy day. It has been snowing for 3 consecutive days and I was wanting some good ol comfort food, but something that was going to satisfy my winter hunger.
This was a great hit with my family!

Ingredients
·        (2) 28 oz cans Crushed Tomatoes (1 can being fire roasted)
·        (1) 26 oz Campbell’s Healthy Request Tomato Soup
·        (1) 15 oz can Mild Chili Beans
·        (1) 15 oz can Dark Red Kidney Beans; drained
·        2 C. Veggy Broth
·        5 cloves of garlic (variety size pieces, mostly small); diced
·        1 medium yellow onion; diced
·        1 lb Lean ground turkey

Spices
·        3 Tbsp. Chili Powder
·        1 Tbsp. each of Onion Powder, Garlic powder, & Ground Black Pepper
·        1 tsp. Paprika

Directions
1.)    Brown turkey meat on medium setting until most pink is no longer present. (Drain if desired, I didn't).
2.)    Combine all ingredients in crock-pot with low setting. Mine has a medium and I simmered for 1 hour, but should have turned it down because it burned a little on bottom. (Busy momma with a home business J )
3.)    Serve with your favorite bread of choice. We had cornbread with a little bit of honey baked into it.

Enjoy!

MRSA

Uhhh, that name just makes me CRINGE!

Horrible bacteria, Staphylococcus Aureus to be exact that has over time become resistant to a lot of our highly effective, but expensive antibiotics.

How you may be wondering?

Well, let's start with the overuse of antibacterial agents in soaps, detergents, cleaning products, just to name a few.

The FDA is now requiring companies to reformulate or simply pull those products off the shelves indefinitely. You can read more here

Second, would be us, the lovely human beings that we are! :-) We are prescribed antibiotics for colds & infections and sometimes after only 2-3 sort days of using them, we think we are fine and we leave it in the medicine cabinet for the next time we "feel ill".
We, that my friends is a HUGE no, no. That little note on the bottle that says "Take all this medicine as prescribed" is there for a reason!!!
You see, the way medicine (specifically antibiotics) works, it's designed to slowly kill the bacteria over time and causes the infection concentration to drop to a lower more manageable concentration that your body (more specifically your White Blood Cells) can then fight off. :-)

Well, the purpose for this blog is, this MRSA is found on gym equipment.

Read for yourself.

I know that many of you have set resolutions to lose weight, tighten & tone, or simply to get more fit.
Regardless of your choice (Congratulations for making one and sticking to it), you should be educated on the risks at hand and how you can lower your chances if you are using public gym equipment.

Most gyms (if not all) have some form of fighting this horrible bacteria whether it's wipes or a spray and paper towels.

I ultimately choose something that is certified organic & toxic free. I HATE bleach and it's horrible side-effects (runny nose, watery eyes, difficulty breathing, dried out hands, who in the HECK wants these while trying to concentrate and get your work out done?) NOT me, no thanks!

I use Mommy's Club Perfect Touch Sanitizer, only $10.95 a bottle.

Happy Holidays!!!!

I want to take this time to give all my readers and
followers Christmas Greetings!
With many good wishes for Christmas and the coming year.

What was on your list this year? What did you get?

What goals do you have to start off 2014 with a bang?

I got a pretty awesome compound bow
(can't wait for archery hunting season in 2014), beautiful diamond earrings, and a sweet bread maker (pretty excited to make my own bread every week).

For those of you who make your own bread, what are some of your favorite recipes?
Do you make gluten free?
Whole wheat or white?
Do you add herbs for added flavor or nuts for crunch?
I am looking to switch to gluten free from whole wheat, so any suggestions are welcomed and highly appreciated. :-)

Do any of my awesome readers use bows? What do you like best about this sport? Have you hunted successfully, if so, what have you hunted? Where do you prefer to hunt?
I enjoy going to the range with my husband.

Some of my goals include converting my family over to more organic food choices, loosing 36 lbs before April 9th (2 pounds per week), working on completing LPN boards in the summer, and of course advancing in my business path with Mommy's Club.

Comment below in the comment section, I look forward to reading your replies.

Enjoy your family and traditions.

Much Love

Fight off the Flu this Season with Toxic-free products!

Attention Readers:

I am seeing lots of posts about people becoming ill with flu and stomach bugs. First and foremost, I wish you well and speedy recovery.

I feel the NEED to share with you the toxic free option to sanitize your environment.
  • Perfect touch sanitizer is safe for all surfaces in your home, car, or work place, even our largest organ, the integument system. Would you believe me if i said "I can spray this in my eyes and mouth and not have toxic side effects." View my video here
  • Daily cleansing foam is a great alternative to those antibacterial soaps that are alcohol based. Those other products dry up and crack your hands with continued use, leaving you susceptible to more germs.
Make the affordable and healthy switch and fight off the flu starting this season and for future defense.

Contact me if you'd like me to place products in your home for trial! Check out the products here and comment below with what you like most about what you read.

Have questions? I'd love to hear them and help you understand our products. I can be reached here.

Accountability

How do you set accountability in your life?

Did you know those who make goals are setting themselves up for success? Like others I speak to, I find a common ground in all of us and it's sticking to those goals and activities that will get us to our desired end result. Whether it's weight loss, learning a new skill, or plans to be successful in life, ALL of these have common grounds and that's first setting up goals
One thing I learned in nursing school was making your goals "SMART". "What is SMART?" you ask
S = Specific (Make it very detailed!)
M = Measurable (How do you know you are advancing toward your end result?)
A = Attainable (Realistically, Can you achieve this?)
R = Relevant (Ask yourself, "Does this goal tie into what I want my end result to be?")
T = Time (When do you want to reach the end result?)
Once you understand and grasp that concept, you are golden!

Now, if you're anything like me, I thrive in accountability. I do better when I give others the POWER to hold me accountable. The most power is within YOU! How do you hold yourself accountable for your actions? Is it through motivation? Is it by writing things out and keeping a running log of your completed challenges and notes on how to work on completion in things that are a struggle for you?

Are you asking yourself "Where are you getting at here Stacy?"

People who write out their goals and follow through with them are increasing their chances of success. I wanted to share this and encourage ALL to write some sort of goal. What is it that YOU want before the end of this year? Do you want to change something? HOW are you going to do that? I want to keep changing lives. This month I plan on adopting a family in need for Christmas. I also plan to DEMOLISH 8 pounds this month. (Remember: you have to take care of yourself ALWAYS). :-)

Feel free to leave a comment below on your goal(s) and how do you plan to achieve them. I love reading others plans and encouraging them and holding them ACCOUNTABLE!

You are my accountability!

What's more important than your child's health?

I ask you this one important question.....What's more important than the health of your child? Take a look at this eye opener video.
I have taken the leap of faith and changed my families options for choices. As a mommy, it's very important for my children's future to be able to function at optimal levels in school so they can be successful later on in life. We don't have time for fatigue, mind cloudiness, pain, respiratory infections, or skin diseases brought on by the daily chemicals we place on our body that are approved by FDA. Make an affordable change, replace those harmful chemicals with certified toxic free & organic products. Check out the healthy options for your entire family here
Comment below and let me know your answer to the above question. I look forward to reading the replies. :-)
